What To Wear On Christmas Day

What To Wear On Christmas Day

Christmas is packed with early mornings, family reunions, big dinners, and late nights. There are plenty of chances to dress up over the festive season, and there’s no better excuse than Christmas Day itself. No matter what your festive traditions are, this guide will help style your outfits from day to night.

Christmas Morning

The excitement of Christmas morning can be a little overwhelming but there’s no rush to get ready. Christmas mornings are supposed to be deliciously self-indulgent and it’s perfectly acceptable to make an appearance in comfortable loungewear instead of rushing to get ready. Just make sure when you do make an appearance you do so in classic pyjamas (or equally fresh sleepwear) with matching dressing gown and a cosy pair of slippers.

If dressing casual isn’t really your thing, a tiny pair of studs or stacking rings can instantly make you feel a little more put together.. or perhaps you’ll be fortunate enough to get a new piece of jewellery under the tree.

The Big Dinner

After a leisurely morning, it’s time to get ready for family, friends, and the big Christmas dinner. For some, this day is all about relaxing in your cosiest clothes and for others it’s the ideal excuse to get dressed up. Whatever you choose to do, the best outfit if the perfect balance of smart and comfortable.

A classic little black dress, modern jumpsuit, or smart trousers and fitted top are three simple outfits that are dressy without being over the top and comfortable enough to wear all day (and through a big Christmas dinner). Any outfit can be paired with timeless fine jewellery to instantly ramp up the glamour. Tiny studs, minimal necklaces, delicate bracelets, and stacking rings are perfect for any occasion.

Evening Party

All you might want to do after a big Christmas dinner is relaxed on the sofa and watch back to back reruns of your favourite tv shows. If that’s the case, throw on a festive jumper and pair of leggings to cosy up for the evening. If you have plans for a Christmas celebration and you want to dress up a little, you don’t have to do a complete outfit change. A few simple changes can do the trick; it's the little extras that make an outfit and add an understated glamour to your style.

Switch up your jewellery by wearing your older pieces with new designs; by mixing bold shapes with modern styles. Or keep things ultra-classic with a set of diamond jewellery for extra sparkle. If you want to make a statement, don’t purchase cheap, festive pieces; layer up your chains or mismatch your jewellery to add a fresh twist to your outfit. Throw on classic longline coat, a swipe of red lipstick, and a simple black handbag, and you’re good to go.
