Our Guide to Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter

Our Guide to Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter

The Jewellery Quarter has been home to the Oh My Clumsy Heart studio since 2014. From this little workshop in a Victorian Grade II listed building called the Spectacle Works, your new sustainable minimal jewellery is made.

When we first moved into the area, there was very little going on. It's now a hive of activity with independent shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants around every corner. Our studio is open by appointment. You're welcome to drop by to collect your order, or simply say hello! Too far to visit? Join us on TikTok to see behind the scenes.

If you're visiting Birmingham, the Jewellery Quarter is only a short walk away. Take the self-guided heritage trail from St. Paul's Georgian square, weaving around the open workshops, and into the beautiful cemeteries. These are our recommendations for best things to see and do in the Jewellery Quarter.

Bars and Restaurants

The Jewellery Quarter had everything from whisky bars to wine bars, and several old-fashioned pubs. These are our places to drop by for a drink.

Grain and Glass - whisky bar
Arch 13 - wine bar
The Jewellers Arms - old-fashion pub

Restaurants

The choice of restaurants in the Jewellery Quarter is limited.  You're better off heading into town for more options, although these are really are something special.

Damascena - Middle Eastern dishes
Tacos Tierra - small plates

Cafes and Coffee Shops

If coffee and cake is what you're after, drop by one of these places.  Our favourite is Coffee Tales who are super dog friendly!

Coffee Tales - homemade cakes and coffee
The Borrow Shop - vegan coffeehouse and eco-friendly gift shop

Green Spaces and Ghost Signs

The only green spaces in the Jewellery Quarter are cemeteries but they're beautiful nonetheless.

Keyhill Cemetery
Warstone Lane Cemetery
St. Paul's Square

Ghost Signs

One of our favourite and most interesting things about the Jewellery Quarter is the ghost signs. Follow this trail and you'll discover them all.
